About Dubai

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, at the entrance to the Persian Gulf. The two best known emirates are Abu Dhabi and Dubai. There are quite a few tourist attractions in the United Arab Emirates – both spectacular natural sites, and many successful tourist structures that have been erected over the years by man. From the largest skyscraper in the world (Burj Khalifa) located in Dubai, to the largest continuous sand desert in the world (the accompanying oasis). Most of the UAE of the United Arab Emirates is located on the shores of the Persian Gulf, with the exception of the Emirate of Fujairah which lies on the shores of the Gulf of Oman and along all the coastal strips of the country there are quite a few spectacular tourist beaches. The western part of the country is mostly sandy, with the “empty quarter” desert containing some of the largest sand dunes in the world. Safari trips in the prominent sand dunes in the country is a popular attraction among tourists. The northeastern part of the country is mountainous, and you can take part in mountaineering activities in the Ras al-Khaimah area, or alternatively ski on the longest angular ski trail in the world which is located on the slopes of a mountain.
Whereas originally the area in which the United Arab Emirates now stands contained only small fishing villages with a distinct Arab culture, which only during the 20th century gained significant flourishing after the seven emirates chose to unite. That is why in each of the capital cities of the seven emirates you will find a historic district with old buildings and sometimes also ancient military fortresses. Archaeological sites are scattered throughout the emirates. In the western part of the country there are quite a few sites of oasis, and in these areas are now the population concentrations in the heart of the desert, such as the city of al-Ain (which was once just an oasis, and is now a large city) and as well as the accompanying oasis. Across the country there are also quite a few waterfalls, spectacular cliffs, and even freshwater lakes.

Apart from nature attractions, the United Arab Emirates also contains quite a few modern attractions including spectacular skyscrapers, huge shopping malls, and huge theme parks, and even indoor ski resorts in the heart of the desert.
There are also multiple tourist islands near major cities. Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is surrounded by natural islands. The coral reef near Abu Dhabi is considered one of the largest coral reefs in the entire Persian Gulf. In Dubai and Bras al-Khaimah there are also the huge artificial islands Palm Jumeria and the island of Morjan which contain various tourist attractions.
There are also quite a few man-made activities across the country. The “Ferrari World” amusement park in Abu Dhabi is the largest indoor amusement park in the world, and as its name implies, the amusement park is focused on Ferrari cars, and contains, among other things, the fastest roller coaster in the world, which accelerates from 0 to 240 km / h -4 seconds. The amusement park is located near the racetrack “Yas Marina Circuit” It hosts many Formula 1 races – both national and international.
The Burj Khalifa Skyscraper in Dubai is the tallest building in the world and visitors can ascend to the observation deck located near the top of the building, from which they can view the entire city and even see some of the areas on the outskirts of Dubai. Other tourist sites, which are especially popular, are the “Wild Wadi” and “Aquaventure” water parks which contain facilities for the whole family. Tourists who are particularly interested in shopping can visit the Dubai Mall, which is one of the shopping malls
