Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. With almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, it makes an ideal safari destination.
Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that migrate across it – from the flattened tops of termite mounds, or sometimes during the rains, from perches high in the trees.
Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River, islets of shade favoured also by Mikumi’s elephants.
Pick up from the hotel in Zanzibar at 6:00 a.m to the airport in stone town.
Local flight to Dar es Salaam at 8:00 a.m pick up at 8:30 a.m from Dar es salaam domestic terminal with a safari car direct to Mikumi, stop over for lunch at Morogoro around 12:30 p.m.
Arriving to Mikumi 15:30 p.m for afternoon Game drive dinner and sleep at Camp Bastian
After breakfast at 8:00 a.m a full game drive inside Mikumi National Park returning at Lunch time to the lodge, after lunch continuing with game drive until the sunset around 1830 hrs dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian. Optional on extra cost Night game drive.
Early Morning breakfast and having a short Game drive while on route leaving Mikumi National park until 8:30 a.m.
Driving back to Dar es Salaam domestic terminal with a stop over for lunch and taking the 16:30 pm flight to Zanzibar. Pick up from the airport to the hotel around 17:00 pm
