Our kitesurfing vacation in Zanzibar is a mix of extreme feeling and tranquillity at the same time. The trip includes 2 DOWNWIND along the spectacular beaches of Zanzibar. A trip to the lagoons and sandbanks. During or after the trip it is highly recommended to go to safari in Tanzania.
Paje Beach – Zanzibar’s capital of kite surfing, located on the eastern coast of Zanzibar Island, which consists of a number of islands off the coast of Tanzania. The white beaches, the coconut trees, the mesmerizing turquoise sea, create one of the most beautiful places in the world – a tropical paradise.
The spot in Paje is perfect for beginners and advanced alike. About a mile into the sea there is a reef, which produces a natural lagoon to the shoreline, with calm and flat water. The wind is steady and reaches the shore vertically (Side shore). Due to the tidal phenomenon in the Indian Ocean, the water level in the lagoon will be from knee to chest most of the time. Ideal for beginners. For wave riding, you can go out on the reef and enjoy the smooth wave at a height of 30 – 200 cm.
The foil and freestyle surfers will also enjoy excellent conditions and flat water in the lagoon. The average wind in the seasons is 12-25 knots, in January-February, and June-September. Paje is characterized by the peace and tranquillity of the African vibe during the day and lively parties during the night. While on kitesurfing vacation in Zanzibar, there are many restaurants along the coast and you can enjoy seafood at cheap prices.
Arriving to Stone Town, Zanzibar’s capital. It’s hour and a half drive to Paje, which is on the East Coast. We’ll settle into the luxurious Cristal Sea Resort which is located right on the beach. Dinner in Africana, a local pub with amazing atmosphere, we will meet the local beers and dishes.
Full Kitesurfing Day – Fits for Twin Tip, Surfboard and Foil – Party at JAMBO Bungalows
After breakfast around 08:00 (according to tide), we’ll head for the Safari blue. Approximate return to the hotel around 19:00. We will sail with a Dhow boat from Unguja Ukuu to a private island (nyamembe) with a spectacular sandbank. It is also known as “The Hidden Island”.
Over there we’ll pump our kites and kite around this paradise. On the island – you will be free to walk around, take photographs, eat fresh fruit, rest on a mat that we will provide you and especially to enjoy the magical tranquillity you have come to. On the afternoon a delicious lunch (the best in Zanzibar) prepared by boat crew with rich and varied seafood. The food will be as per your request with options for both seafoods and for vegetarians.
Afterwards, we’ll sail to the Blue Lagoon which is a natural, warm and relaxing pool that fills with the tide and empties with the low tide, surrounded by coral stones giving the spectacular sigh
From there we will sail back to Unguja ukuu, arrive at its authentic coast and get into a car that will take you back to the hotel. (Soft drinks and tropical fruits will be provided throughout the day).

Downwind along the eastern coast of Zanzibar. We’ll drive to the north tip of the island, Nungwi. We will launch our kites and head to the magical island – Mnemba Island. We’ll go down to eat Lunch at Matemwe’s virgin beach at Villa Kiva restaurant and from there we will return by car to Paja. Includes drinks and fruit, motor boat – suitable for Twin Tip

Down Wind: We’ll drive to Kiwengwa and head south to Michamvi’s stunning bay, stopping at the famous restaurant located on a rock in the middle of the sea – Back to Paje by car
On this day you will have the option to go to your next destination or to safari game drive. For whom who will continue on a safari in Tanzania, We’ll leave early in the morning to Stone Town and from there take a private flight directly to the Safari Reserve. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Atzmon Dagan
Atzmon is a kitesurfer, extreme photographer and nature lover, living and breathing the ocean. The connection to the sea started as a small kid when he was a participant in the Sea Scouts movement. Further down the road, he was a guide and manager for the Sea Scouts, leading hundreds of participants in a variety of different activities. His love to Africa came during a long trip that he made over there. He lived and worked in Zanzibar and Tanzania for a period of 18 months in total. All of that while developing his photographic skills. Atzmon was a manager of the leading Kitesurf school in Israel. He conducted successfully 3 trips of kitesurfing in Zanzibar last year.
